Clean-Up Blacktail Stream (CUBS) Week
2022 CUBS Week Report
May 9-25
Each year, the Clark Fork Watershed Education Program partners with Butte schools for a week of stewardship. Students from schools across Butte spend time picking up trash in the community and learning how to protect our streams through safe stormwater practices.

In 2022, more than 500 students from the following schools helped clean up trash and learn about the importance of safe stormwater practices:
- Montana Tech,
- Whittier Elementary,
- West Elementary,
- Emerson Elementary,
- Kennedy Elementary,
- Margaret Leary Elementary,
- Butte Central High School,
- Webster Butte High Career Center,
- East Middle School and
- Silver Bow Montessori.
The students earned pizza parties in celebration of their stewardship. In 2023 we hope to grow the program to include every school in the Butte School District. Save the date for May 8-12, 2023 if you’d like to get involved.
